Vermiculite #4 - Bulk 64 cu ft sack on a pallet  Weight ~500 lbs.

Horticultural grade vermiculite. Very fine coarseness (granules slightly larger than sand). Vermiculite is a silicate of magnesium-aluminum-iron that is treated at high temperatures which causes it to expand. It is used as a soil amendment to increase the water and nutrient holding capacity of soil. Vermiculite aerates soil and can be used to treat compacted soil or soil that tends to compact easily. Vermiculite has a neutral pH of 7.  OMRI Listed.*

When compared to perlite, vermiculite holds more water and nutrients than perlite and is ideal for most plants, especially those that are less tolerant to underwatering. While vermiculite does provide aeration, it doesn't aerate as well as perlite. Vermiculite is also believed to help plants take up nutrients in the soil more easily. Use up to 50 percent vermiculite in your potting mix. Vermiculite is very popular with container gardeners and is a great additive for planters or indoor plant pots.
